The California State University program for education and research in biotechnology awarded Codey Huang a President's Commission Scholar Award. This award is available to first and second year students without any previous research experience upon submitting a research proposal with their perspective principal investigator. The research proposal put together by both Dr. Johnston and Codey Huang is entitled The Assessment of Valproic Acid to Enhance Gene Targeting Efficiency. The program reviews applications from all California State University campuses and distributes the awards based on the quality of the proposal. Of the 11 awards distributed this year, we were fortunate to be included. Congratulations Codey!
